A Chester County jury awarded more than $32.8 million against Phoenixville Hospital as a result of a delayed c-section that caused Lillian Ciechoski to suffer spastic quadriplegic cerebal palsy.
Lillian's attorney, Robert Bracken, was interviewed by the Legal Intelligencer. "The nurses in particular did not notify the doctor. Dr. Cadieux testified that she wished she would have known sooner and had she known sooner, she could have delivered Lily earlier," Bracken said. "In a case like this where a baby is being deprived of oxygen, each second counts."
Of the verdict, Bracken said, "The jury awarded Lily all the future medical expenses that we requested. It was really great to see the jurors unanimously agree to it. You could tell the were very proud of the verdict they rendered."
